How Do I Delete My Account or Personal Information?
If you wish to delete your Pie VAT account, there are certain regulations we must follow due to the nature of our service. While we can delete accounts in some cases, there are important details to be aware of.
If you have not yet completed a VAT refund claim or if your claim has not been approved, we can proceed with deleting your account and all associated personal information. Simply reach out to our support team via live chat or email us at support@piesystems.io, and we’ll guide you through the process.
However, if you have had a VAT refund claim that has been processed or approved, we are required to retain certain information for up to seven years due to legal and regulatory obligations. This is to ensure compliance with potential audits from tax authorities. During this retention period, while we cannot delete your account, we do take steps to obscure all personally identifiable information (PII). This means your personal data will be securely anonymised and will not be accessible to anyone, ensuring your privacy is protected.
Please note that once the audit period ends, your data will be fully removed from our system in compliance with data protection regulations.
